They came from the old creels at the \u003cstrong\u003eAxminster Carpet factory\u003c\/strong\u003e, where they played a small but important part in the carpet making process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eThe creels were made up of around 14 sections, each containing approximately 500 tubes. Wool was blown by air into the long hexagonal tubes, with the glass spheres helping to keep the wool contained inside as it was fed into the carpet making process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eWhen the old equipment was dismantled, we rescued thousands of the glass spheres rather than seeing them go to waste.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eWe've given them a new purpose as these unusual glass pyramids.
