About Us

We’re Tony and Steph, the creative minds behind Devon Fox, based on the Devon/Dorset border near Lyme Regis. We live in a tiny home (about the size of a postage stamp) with our cat, dog, and the occasional rescue duck—who always seem to find us when they need help!

Devon Fox is a celebration of craft, sustainability, and the joy of making. It grew from a handmade ring, a bottle of beer in the sunshine, and two very fizzy brains that just can’t stop creating.

Meet Steph

I’ve always loved all things arty and pretty. My Nonna was from Pola (in Italy now Croatia), and thanks to her best friend Anusca (and a serendipitous meeting in a park), I spent childhood summers in Italy soaking up art, antiques, and inspiration.

At school, I studied art and dreamed of costume design for theatre or film—but life led me into retail. I’ve worked in fashion, the iconic Athena (where my Pre-Raphaelite obsession began), and later jewellery. I even travelled to Australia in 2000 with a friend… where I met Tony for the first time. Life took its twists and turns, and we reconnected in 2015. We’ve been together ever since.

Devon Fox brings together my love of creativity, my background in retail (front of house and behind the scenes), and a shared ethos with Tony: make do, mend, reuse. My Grandad lived that way, and it’s become a core principle of what we do—repurposing materials, reducing waste, and always finding value in the overlooked.

Meet Tony

In 2006, after years working in carpentry and as a handyman, I decided to try something new. I taught myself leathercraft using a mix of online resources and sheer stubbornness. I went deep into the making side but struggled with sales.

When Steph and I got together, I knew I wanted to propose with a handmade ring, so I dove headfirst into learning jewellery-making: casting, stone-setting, recycling metals—even melting down old copper. After a few years of practice, I proposed with a ruby and diamond ring I’d made from scratch.

From there, we built Devon Fox—starting with recycled copper and silver jewellery, and expanding into new tools and techniques. I’ve always been driven by curiosity, and now at our workshop in the historic Axminster Carpet Factory, we create everything from 3D-printed objects to engraved keepsakes, block printing to traditional string making. Every day is a new opportunity to learn something and make something.

The Business

Devon Fox started with jewellery, then candles—born one sunny lockdown afternoon while upcycling a wine bottle. We named each candle after local landmarks (The Alexandra, for instance, was inspired by Tony saying, “That one smells like posh ladies who lunch”).

By 2023, we’d expanded into laser cutting and engraving, and now produce a wide range of gifts, keepsakes, and sustainable crafts. In 2025, we moved into our dream space: The Grotto, our workshop at the Axminster Carpet Factory. It’s packed with fairy lights, ivy, and ideas just waiting to come to life.

We’ve done our share of craft markets (and may again!), but our focus now is on growing the wholesale side of Devon Fox—sharing our work with shops and customers across the UK.

Meet the Team Leader

Otis is our four-legged manager. He keeps everything running on schedule—unless there’s a hedge trimmer or low-flying Chinook around. Then you’ll find him hiding in his oversized paper bag on the bed.
