Collection: Seashell Trinket Box

Mid-Century Devon Seaside Souvenirs

These wooden pieces were made in the 1950s and 1960s by a small firm in Colyton, Devon, which supplied tourist shops across the UK. Boxes, money banks and decorative items were produced as affordable seaside souvenirs, many decorated with seashells.

The wooden components were made locally using far better quality wood and plywood than would typically be used for similar items today. Manufacturing ended in the late 1960s following the rise of cheap imports, and the workshop closed.

This is original vintage stock from that period, offering a genuine connection to Devon’s seaside history.
