Natural Deer Cowrie shell, known scientifically as Macrocypraea cervus.
Recognisable for its elongated oval form and rich chestnut to deep brown colouring, this species often shows lighter speckling across the surface and a pale underside. The smooth, porcelain like finish is typical of cowries, giving it a polished natural appearance.
These shells are vintage shop stock from a coastal gift shop that closed in the 1980s. They have been stored for decades and are not recent imports.
Available in the following size ranges:
3.5 to 4.5cm
4.5 to 5.5cm
Each shell is natural and unpolished, with variation in tone, speckling and overall pattern.
Rather than photographed individually, we will carefully select a shell for you from the chosen size range, ensuring strong colour and overall quality.
10% of the sale price from each purchase will be donated to the Marine Conservation Society to support their work protecting our seas and coastlines.
Ideal for collectors, coastal displays or natural history inspired interiors.
