Formosan Ivory Whelk (Babylonia formosae)
A smooth, heavily built, and deeply stepped ivory-white shell. It is beautifully decorated with highly regular rows of distinct, soft orange-brown rectangular spots cascading down its rounded whorls.

Each shell comes complete with an identification label.

These shells are vintage shop stock from a coastal gift shop that closed in the 1980s. They have been stored for decades and are not recent imports.
