Gold-mouth Turban (Turbo chrysostomus)

Natural Gold-mouth Turban shell, known scientifically as Turbo chrysostomus.

Recognisable for its rounded spiral form and distinctive golden interior aperture, this species combines earthy outer tones with a striking inner mouth. Colouring varies from greenish brown to sandy hues, often with natural banding.

These shells are vintage shop stock from a coastal gift shop that closed in the 1980s. They have been stored for decades and are not recent imports.
