Naturally holed pebble, traditionally known as a Hag Stone, found by us along the Jurassic Coast.
Formed entirely by natural erosion, each hole has been worn through by the movement of water and sand over time. No drilling, no alteration.
In British folklore, hag stones were believed to offer protection and were often hung near doors or windows to guard the home. They have also been known as adder stones or fairy stones, with stories saying you could see hidden things if you looked through the hole.
These hold a special place in Steph’s heart as her grandad used to collect them and hang them in his garden in Parkstone.
These smaller pieces measure under 5cm.
Each stone is individually priced according to its shape, character and overall quality rather than simply by size.
You will receive the exact stone shown in the photographs.
Collected responsibly during our coastal walks and carefully cleaned, but otherwise left exactly as found.
