Vintage 1950s–60s Seaside Rescued Shop Stock
A large and sculptural Cassis cornuta, commonly known as the Horned Helmet.
Boldly ridged with dramatic curved points, this is a substantial decorative shell with real presence. Its warm coral tones and architectural form make it an eye catching piece for shelves, consoles, or cabinet displays.
A Mid Century Seaside Provenance
This shell was originally sold in a tourist shop in Seaton, Devon during the 1950s and 1960s. It was supplied through Italian importers who sourced shells from coastal regions around the world, a common practice for British seaside businesses of the period.
Stored for decades, it is now being offered once again. Natural and unprocessed, it represents a small but tangible piece of mid 20th century seaside trade and travel.
Four from this original batch are available. Each is sold individually. They display beautifully as a symmetrical pair if desired.
