Oak Cone (Conus quercinus)
A large, heavy, wide-shouldered cone shell displaying a smooth, substantial body whorl. Retrieved from dense, historic calcified deposits, these rugged beach specimens have traded their bright golden-oak lustre for a beautifully aged, matte character. Faint hints of lemon-yellow tones and extremely fine, closely spaced brown horizontal lines still wrap around the shell, offering a brilliant look at its natural history.
Each shell comes complete with an identification label.
Average size 4 - 6 cm
These shells are vintage shop stock from a coastal gift shop that closed in the 1980s. They have been stored for decades and are not recent imports.
Each shell is a unique natural specimen, lightly conditioned to highlight its rich, authentic colours and surface patterns. Rather than photographed individually, we will carefully select a shell for you from the chosen size range, ensuring excellent colour and overall quality.
