Natural Spiral Melongena shell, known scientifically as Volegalea cochlidium.
Recognisable for its elongated spiral form and strong sculptural ridging, this species has a distinctive, tapering shape with a pronounced spire. Colouring typically ranges from warm sandy tones through to soft browns, often with subtle banding and natural variation across the surface.
These shells are vintage shop stock from a coastal gift shop that closed in the 1980s. They have been stored for decades and are not recent imports.
Available in the following size ranges:
7 to 8cm
8 to 9cm
Each shell is natural and unpolished, with variation in tone, ridge definition and overall character.
Rather than photographed individually, we will carefully select a shell for you from the chosen size range, ensuring good form and overall quality.
10% of the sale price from each purchase will be donated to the Marine Conservation Society to support their work protecting our seas and coastlines.
Ideal for collectors, coastal displays or natural history inspired interiors.
