Natural Turret Snail shell, often nicknamed “Unicorn Horn”, known scientifically as Turritella terebra.

Recognisable for its tall, tightly spiralled form and elongated tapering shape, this species has a distinctive architectural appearance. Colouring typically ranges from sandy cream through to warm brown tones, often with subtle banding along the spiral.

These shells are vintage shop stock from a coastal gift shop that closed in the 1980s. They have been stored for decades and are not recent imports.

Available in the following size ranges:

6 to 8cm
8 to 10cm

Many examples show slight wear or minor damage to the very tip of the spire, which is common with this tall, delicate form. This does not affect the overall sculptural appearance.

Each shell is natural and unpolished, with variation in tone and spiral definition.

Rather than photographed individually, we will carefully select a shell for you from the chosen size range, ensuring good overall form and character.

10% of the sale price from each purchase will be donated to the Marine Conservation Society to support their work protecting our seas and coastlines.

Ideal for collectors, coastal displays or natural history inspired interiors.
